Modern art gallery NEDBALKA

Located on a charming quiet street directly in the hearth of the historical city center of Bratislava, this amazing gallery creates a bridge, a link between the rich history of the city and modern pulse of artistic life.

Architectonically unique interior will remind you famous Guggenheim museum in New York and thanks to sensitive approach and special design this building has been awarded with the most important architectural award in Slovakia.

On the exhibition area of 1,529 m2 you can admire more than 500 works of art, of which 160 paintings and sculptures belong to the permanent collection of the museum. NEDBALKA gallery is presenting the work of 46 major Slovak artists, starting with artistic modernism from its birth at the turn of the century to the Galanda group and contemporary art. Between the ground floor and the first floor geometric-minimalist work of contemporary Slovak artist Ašot Haas has been installed – to create an interesting space for presenting short-time exhibitions.

Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museeum

If you would like to treat yourself not only with modern art admiring but also a relaxing trip, especially during warm sunny days, take a short trip to visit Danubiana – one of the youngest museums of modern art in Europe. Only 15 km from the city center you will find a place of piece, quiet and harmony between modern art and nature.

Danubiana gallery is located on the tip of the Danube river peninsula. The unique combination of location and exhibition space, as well as the setting on the border of three countries – Slovakia, Austria and Hungary – and the contrasts between the water, green banks and sky horizon only enhance the experience.

Newly established park of 8000 m2 enables to present sculptures outdoors and thanks to surrounding harmony of natural scenery it is truly a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty.

In Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museeum you can admire the work of many leading international artists and if you are interested, you can also purchase some contemporary art works in the sales gallery.

In summer take the advantage of choosing a boat trip to get to Danubiana or rent a bicykle and enjoy the scenery from above the wheels. You can combine those two as well – take a trip to Danubiana by bicycle and come back by sightseeing boat.
